Getting Started

Welcome to Y.E.S. I am excited about the new season and I am looking forward to getting started. I have a true passion for fitness and what it  can do to change your life and your body, by reshaping and sculpting it, and also to help us reconnect with our inner selves.  I look forward to sharing your journey with you and know that you will appreciate the benefits of fitness and nutrition as much as I do.

Your First Session:

Please come early for your first session. This will give you time to fill out some forms and for us to become acquainted . If you have already registered online, and have printed your waiver then it may not be necessary for you to come early. This is also a great opportunity for you to discuss any issues that you may have. Of course, I am always available after every class to answer any questions you may have.

What should I bring?

You will need to bring a Pilates / Yoga mat. Mats are a personal item and most ladies prefer to have their own. I do have mats and mat bags available for purchase at the studio.  You will also need to wear a pair of tennis shoes. Nothing fancy needed, we just need to have good support and absorb  little shock. Please bring some sort of water or sports bottle to keep handy. Please be sure that your bottle has a tight fitting lid. The bottles tend to get knocked over and we need to avoid a wet floor.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. Any clothing made for Aerobics, Pilates/Yoga is highly recommended. You should be free to move without feeling confined.  When choosing shorts you will want to be sure thaey are the tight fitting bike or yoga style shorts, otherwise you may feel exposed. Also, please wear a comfortable pair of tennis shoes.

A few tips to help make your experience more productive and enjoyable…

*Try not to eat a big meal prior to exercising. Eat at least 90 minutes before coming to class. If your schedule will not permit this than eat a nutritious snack and put your meal on hold until after class.

* I know we all have very busy schedules, but it is very important for you to be prompt for class. This is for your benefit. If you miss the warm-up exercises and jump into class wherever we happen to be, your body will not be prepared and you will not get the full benefits of class.

* Please turn the ringer off on your cell phone. If it is important for you to receive a call during class please put your phone on vibrate and take the call outside of the classroom.

* Please do not wear perfumes or colognes to class. We will do a lot of deep breathing and these scents can be very overwhelming.

I am looking forward to meeting you and supporting you in your journey.

SEE YOU IN CLASS!!!
